Today our guide, Maggie, took us about 1 hour outside the city of Guangzhou to a beautiful park called Bao Mo Gardens. It was without doubt one of the most beautiful places I have ever been in China. As you can see from the photos here and below. It houses some amazing art, pottery and jade in museums throughout the park, and a lovely Lotus field, and millions of Koi and turtles that you can feed. We wandered around for a few hours, and despite the incredibly hot temperatures had a fantastic time.
This evening we are going to PIzza Hut for dinner, and tomorrow we have our consulate appointment! For those who know Chris you will be surprised that he is going to be able to find something to eat at Pizza Hut - the menu here is much more extensive than home, they even serve steak!
Only 5 more days to go until we come home - YAY!! Tomorrow afternoon Maggie is taking us to a folk art museum and store where local artisans sell their wares. She has been an amazing guide and has had entertaining and interesting things for us to do every day. Since all the kids in our small travel group are older it has been great for them, and has given Kievah a chance to see and learn so much about her birth country.
