Sunday in Guangzhou - Happy 4th of July

Today is the start of our countdown to coming home! Yippeeee! One week from today and we will be on the plane to Newark, to bring our little girl home to meet her brothers, Granny, and Grandma. We can't wait.

But first, for the next few days, we will fill out American paperwork, file it at the consulate, wait for approvals, attend a swearing in ceremony, and finally on Friday evening receive Kievah's American Visa. This will allow her to enter the USA, and will mean that as soon as the wheels of our plane set down on US soil she will be an American citizen. Something her Mom hasn't even achieved yet.

We are so glad for the company of another family here in Guangzhou and it is especially nice for Kievah since they also adopted a 6 year old girl and have their 9 year old with them too. Last night we went for dinner with them to a surprisingly good Italian restaurant. We all needed a change from Chinese food and it was delicious - they even had a steak for Chris. Just so you know - Kievah likes Italian food :)

Tonight we will venture out somewhere else for dinner, though we are still undecided about where. There is a 4th of July party going on at a diner on Shaimen Island called "Lucy's", and all Americans in Guangzhou are invited to attend. We will probably not go, as it is a little far, but we did want to wish everyone in the USA a HAPPY 4th of JULY!

We miss you all.
