Saturday Afternoon

A highlight of being in Guangzhou is meeting up with the other family in our travel group. They also adopted a 6 year old girl, and are traveling with the mother's Mom and older 9 year old daughter. We have really enjoyed getting to know them, and finally meeting them since we have been corresponding and chatting via email and phone since we learned we would be in the same group. This family is from Arizona, and the Mom is from Texas. We found out that we have mutual friends, a couple that were with us in Kenya - it certainly is a small world!

After the medical appointment we did some shopping, stocking up on soda, noodles and water for our hotel room. Whoops I forgot the essential snicker bars - we bought 10 :) Then we splurged on some Starbucks coffee - hard to believe that it is even more expensive here than in the USA!
I was glad to find out that I was not the weirdest looking person at the mall today - don't you love the silver people?

Well we are off to bed now, tomorrow we will be visiting the Guangzhou museum.

It's so strange to see "Saturday afternoon" and we're just getting started on Saturday! I like the PJs Colm picked... it's got to be such a wierd thing for her; getting Pjs from a brother she hasn't met yet! It's been fun praying for you all... a bright spot in the day.
