Well we made it safely to Guangzhou and are settled into a lovely hotel - The Asia International. I have been surprised and delighted by the quality of the hotels we have stayed at, and the FREE internet offered in both the one in Changsha and here in Guangzhou.
Kievah was a star on the flight, as you can see from the pictures. She settled down right away and got her DVD player and headphones out as soon as we reached cruising altitude! It is hard to believe that she has never been on a plane before, she seemed like an old pro. She clutched on to her little pink backpack the whole way and wouldn't let anyone touch it or carry it for her. All of her precious things are in it; dolly (Wa Wa), Kai-lan, doggy (Patrick), little special box with necklace, MP3 player, princess coloring book and story book, hair clips, and DVD player! These all came from Sue, Bethanie and Pam, equipping a little girl for plane rides, and they have been VERY much appreciated in the hotel room and plane! I am sure I will be very thankful for them on the 15 hour flight home too! THANKS FRIENDS!
Today we have to go for her physical by the American Consulate Dr. They will review her referral, compare to her physical condition, check her vaccinations and give her any that are missing, and administer a TB test which will be read in 3 days. Please pray she doesn't need too many shots.
I have to run now as we need to leave the hotel quite soon and haven't had breakfast yet, we were late to bed last night after the flight from Changsha was delayed about an hour.
