Today we had Kievah's medical appointment, this included a physical exam, hearing test, eye test, TB test, and vaccinations. She only needed 3 shots which made us very happy, her vaccination records from the orphanage were very good and clear so she was up to date apart from the last few needed by any Kindergartner before starting school. The physical exam took quite a while as the Dr. went over every inch of her and measured each one of her scars. She has 5 surgery scars, two on her left elbow, one on her left wrist, then on her left hip and ankle. We are guessing a little but imagine these were intended to release tendons that were over tight due to her cerebral palsy. It will be interesting to get the opinion of an orthopedist in the US to find out of these surgeries were successful or if there are any further needed to maximize her mobility.
Kievah did very well throughout, though she definitely was apprehensive about the clinic, I imagine such places bring back some rather painful memories.
