Beautiful Tale

Straight from the Guidebook...

"There is a beautiful legend about the name of "Yangcheng". In Zhou Dynasty, Guangzhou emerged in the years of famine, and barren field made people live in dire poverty. The legend says thar five celestial beings came to Guangzhou, riding on five supernatural rams holding millet ears in their mouths. They gave the millet ears to the people as gifts and wished them a great harvest. From then on, Guangzhou has been called "Yangcheng" and the "Five Rams" became the symbol of Guangzhou. In order to thank the five immortals, the people built Five Immortal Taoist Temples. There is a Five Rams Stone Sculpture in Yuexiu Park."

We spent this morning in Yuexiu Park, and the museum it houses.

Wow, sounds like a nice visit. Wish we could've done some of that. Our guides didn't take us anywhere and with Joel having such a hard time … we weren't feeling very adventurous. We did however go to the Island several times as we had taken the taxi there on our last trip and knew it was a short ride.

She looks like she is doing so well and bless her heart for crying for Mama. I've never had one do that … they all want Baba! :) They come around though as Mama fixes most meals once home. :)))

I so wish we could've been together. Drats on the Consulate. You know that Wednesday when the other families in our group went … there were only 12 families there. They said there was plenty of room for more. So frustrating but alas, you are there and we made it home. Can't believe your trip will be over soon too. Praying still!

BTW, re-entry is hard! Li'l Dude awakens at 4 a.m. every day and the others are up by 6:30. Yikes!
